The beadwork design is intended to represent a flower in the middle of its blooming sequence - a flower in action. The action of blooming reminds us of rebirth and renewal, as well as regeneration and resurgence. It also symbolizes the natural cycles of mother earth and honours non-linear temporality. Working through different iterations of this design over the pandemic, its gesture also offers a feeling of hope and a sense of comfort that a new flower will always bloom.
